Cover illustration for City University of Hong Kong Press

Cover Illustration and Chapter Illustrations
City University of Hong Kong Press 2008

The finalized cover illustration was based loosely on the Sai Kung Town scene. See if you know which part of Sai Kung Town I am depicting.

This one was the first version of the cover but was discarded cause the editor thought the youth was too alone and the scene too depressing.

A quick sketch at the Sai Kung Typhoon Shelter.

New Painting in Progress

A new painting in progress. It's an exercise painting based on Rebecca Guay's "Beauty and the Unicorn" The original was painted with gouache on paper but I'm using acrylic and texture paste instead. I am also going to change the coins in the shell to roses.

Do visit her website:

Her paintings are wonderful!

Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre

Central Courtyard at Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre

Front View of the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre. Shek Kip Mei, Hong Kong. It was once an old factory building and is now converted into an artist village jointly operated by the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Hong Kong Art Centre. It's an interesting place where you will see many genres of art, puppetry, western oil paintings, Chinese painting, dance, sculpture, wood work, traditional Chinese music name it!
