Chuen Lung Village Restaurant 川龍端記茶樓

Sketching and having Seven-Up with Mint leaves in the countryside of Chuen Lung Village in Tsuen Wan. I decided to use a blue palette to depict summer rain clouds and the blue sky in between as well as the strong shadows cast on the ground.

Sai Kung Tin Hau Birthday 2018 西貢天后誕 2018

Lots of Lion dances and Cantonese Opera performances to celebrate Tin Hau’s (the goddess of the sea) Birthday in Sai Kung! Rarely did I have this chance to sketch the temple from the elevated location inside the temporary Cantonese Opera Tent in front of the temple. As it's Tin Hau Birthday celebration, large red alters decorated with flowers, lanterns and ornaments were placed on two sides of the temple entrance. By the time I finished the sketch, the two alters were carried away from the temple in a ritual. It's really a special day for Sai Kung Tin Hau Temple.

Old tenement buildings along Canton Road.  The type building in the foreground on the right is becoming increasingly rare in urban Hong Kong as one by one, they are being replaced by super slim high-rises just like the one which stands in the background in the sketch.

Spring is back! A nice afternoon sketching the spring colours and listening to the songs of birds at Lions Nature Education Centre in Sai Kung

Tin Hau Temple Sketch 天后廟速寫

A challenging sketch! I set out to sketch the Tin Hau Temple (Goddess of the Sea) in Sai Kung this afternoon but after applying the watercolours, the sky started drizzling! I first kept on drawing with my umbrella open but soon, the drizzling rain started to dissolve the watercolour and I had to find shelter to finish the sketch!

下午係西貢天后廟速寫，惜天公不造美，雨粉飛飛，初時擔䉀繼續畫，不過雨越落越溶，水彩都溶埋，為有搵地方避雨同畫埋張畫。

Guy Arab Mark 5 British Bus in Hong Kong 英國製六十年代三十座位舊巴士

A 30-seat old British bus (Guy Arab Mark 5) which used to serve residents on Hong Kong Island back in the sixties. It's now fully refurbished to working order and was one of the stars at Motoring Clubs' Festival in Central yesterday. 

此輛英國製 Guy Arab Mark 5 三十座位舊巴士曾於六十年代服務香港市民。昨日此舊巴士乃於中環香港車會嘉年華中觸目登場。

The God of Love at Wong Tai Sin Temple 黃大仙廟月老前

Unearthed an old sketch!   The god of love aka ‘the wise old man on the moon’ at Wong Tai Sin Temple, arguably the most famous Taoist temple in Hong Kong.  Girls came here to pray in front of him so that they can soon meet their true love and get married.

Hong Kong Cemetery 香港最早的基督教墳場: 香港墳場

The earliest Christian cemetery in Hong Kong which all started at the beginning of the British colonial rule.  Thos who rest here include British military personnels who died in the two world wars, early missionaries, the early elites and Mr Yeung Ku-Wan, who worked closely with Dr Sun Yat-sen but was assassinated in 1901 in Hong Kong by an agent sent by the Qing government.

香港最早的基督教墳場始於英治1845年。在此處安息的包括於兩次世界大戰中戰死的英軍、早期來華的宣教使、香港開埠早年的精英，還有被潛入香港的清政府特務暗殺的楊衢雲先生等。
