The reference photo is a black and white one, so colors on the painting are largely based on imagination.
Underlayer applied to establish values.

續層塗上顏色：但山景太艷及太前，稍後要調淡顏色。整張畫只有海傍建築物大致完成。
The colours of the mountains are too strong, need to lower its chroma later. Only the buildings are basically done at this stage.

This one was the first version of the cover but was discarded cause the editor thought the youth was too alone and the scene too depressing.

New Painting in Progress

A new painting in progress. It's an exercise painting based on Rebecca Guay's "Beauty and the Unicorn" The original was painted with gouache on paper but I'm using acrylic and texture paste instead. I am also going to change the coins in the shell to roses.

Front View of the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre. Shek Kip Mei, Hong Kong. It was once an old factory building and is now converted into an artist village jointly operated by the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Hong Kong Art Centre. It's an interesting place where you will see many genres of art, puppetry, western oil paintings, Chinese painting, dance, sculpture, wood work, traditional Chinese music instrument...you name it!

A sight that caught me during a graveyard tour at the Hong Kong St Michael Catholic Cemetery.
