A finished Painting on Sai Kung Lion Dance

It's based on a lion dance/dragon dance parade which was held during the Sai Kung Tin Hau Birthday Celebration. Placed on an easel, you will have a better idea of the real size of the painting.

Two paintings and One Print

This one with the little girl in the stream was conceived while I was wandering along a stream near Sheung Yiu, Sai Kung. I called the painting "Sai Kung Alice" cause that little girl reminded me of Alice's adventure in Wonderland.

"Enjoying the Sun" is based on a rough sketch I did in an outing to Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung. It was a wonderful afternoon with the sun shining brightly and yet the weather was cool and pleasant.

The print of the "Sai Kung Fish Market" was based on a sketch I did during daytime. The color and early morning mood were all imagination. I remember someone told me the dim morning sunlight should be on the other side of the picture, so I made a mistake. Wonder if the person who bought it will ever notice it.

HK International Printing & Packaging Fair 2008

HK International Printing & Packaging Fair 2008

The Hong Kong Society of Illustrators had set up a booth at the fair at AsiaWorld-Expo showcasing profiles of and artworks created by a group of talented and very enthusiastic local illustrators and art practitioners. Happy that I was one of them who could display my work and yet sad as I couldn't find time to help out and interact with people at the venue.

A visit to Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre Shek Kip Mei Hong Kong

Went to the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) this morning and joined a guided tour. The first photo shows the skylight at the top of the central courtyard and the second one is the old machinery left in this former factory building.

Sai Kung Fisherwoman

This one is based on a photo I took some time ago at the Sai Kung waterfront. The colourful objects that are placed disorderly on those boats are always an enjoyable sight to behold. The painting is far from fisnihed, the yellowish parts are all the underlayer which are not painted with the colours I hv in mind yet. There is also some shadow errors that I have to fix along the way.

Painting in Progress

It's been so fulfilling to be painting again. A painting I have just finished. The photo was taken while I was still working on it.
The painting is about a metalwork man who is running a shop in Sai Kung Old Town, selling metal mailboxes. He is already over 90 I heard.

Thanks Tara for taking this picture and thanks Judy for letting me paint at your place. Will be painting at Explore Sai Kung again on this Saturday:)
