I have long wanted to sketch the winding narrow flyover along Hill Road near the University of Hong Kong. This iconic flyover passes through residential high rises along the road which makes excellent material to sketch!
A windy and cloudy afternoon gradually turned into a rainy evening! Still my sketcher friends and I were in happy mood as we sketched the Shek Kip Mei area. While some of my friends went to sketch the eateries in a nearby housing estate, another sketch friend and I went to sketch the iconic St Francis of Assisi’s Catholic Church and the street scene here in Shek Kip Mei.
A great and quiet location at the top of Sai Kung Park where I sketched the vast span of roof tops of Sai Kung Old Town.
A few large jeeps mixed with other cars in a car park in Sai Kung.
I wandered into an narrow alley in Sai Kung old town and sketched this shop which sells rattan baskets and vases. The shop is run by Christian New Life Association which aims at helping drug addicts in Hong Kong.
A quiet afternoon at the Sai Kung Town Waterfront. Three fishermen are busy preparing their catch on the boat while a few folks are observing them.
My first sketch in the year of the rat. People came to the Sai Kung Tin Hau Temple to pray to the goddess of the sea for good luck and health in the new year of the rat!
Great moment at the Motoring Clubs Festival yesterday! Lovely Volkswagen beetles! It’s always a joy to sketch with a group of very dedicated sketcher friends who love sketching so dearly.
